Ledger not working with Common

When attempting to send tokens, swap tokens or bridge back to Ethereum, the review process on the Ledger Nano S device takes the user through many screens. For sending it takes 116 screens. For swaps it takes 205 screens. The screens also become gradually slower to refresh, from 1 second at the beginning to around 15 seconds on screen 100. And if one has the willpower to click through all the screens and approve the transaction, it still fails with a disconnect error.
This was tested on Windows 11 - Chrome and Edge browsers - Subwallet and Nightly browser extensions, Ledger Nano S with latest Legder software.

Note: until this is fixed, the funds that I bridged from Ethereum to Common are stuck and irretrievable.
